List of Heating Functions

Choose from many heating functions to get the best result possible for your cooking. The functions may differ depending on the model.

To grill flat food and to toast bread.

To roast larger meat joints or poultry with bones on one shelf position. Also use the function to make gratins and to brown food.

To bake on up to three positions at the same time and to dry food. Set the temperature 20 - 40 °C lower than for the function: Conventional Cooking.

To make convenience food (e.g. French fries, potato wedges or spring rolls) crispy.

To bake and roast food on one shelf position.

To bake pizza. To make intensive browning and a crispy bottom.

To bake cakes with a crispy bottom and to preserve food.

First connection

Configure your new oven to suit you.

When you have connected the oven to the mains, or after the power cut, you will be asked to do some basic configuration.

Initial setup

Configure your new oven to suit you.

When you turn on your oven for the first time, the oven requires you to set the Language, Display Brightness, Buzzer Volume, Water hardness and Time of Day.

  1. Touch to turn on the oven.
    The display shows a welcome message.
  2. Follow the messages on the display to set up the initial settings.
Wireless connection and remote control

Enjoy the convenience of controlling the cooking progress even from outside of the kitchen.

Make sure that you have access to the wireless network with the Internet connection.
  1. Turn on the oven.
  2. Press Menu > Settings > Connections
  3. Slide or press to turn on Wi-Fi.
  4. Choose wireless network with the Internet connection.
    The oven wireless module starts within 90 seconds.
    Note:

    As soon as you are connected, you can use the app to send the settings and the recipes to your oven. If you also want to start the oven from the app press on the oven display. The remote control activates and appears.

    To get more information follow the instructions in the app.

Set the Water hardness

For best results when cooking with steam, set the water hardness to match the water quality from your tap.

  1. Take the 4 colour change strip supplied with the steam set in the oven.
  2. Put all the reaction zones of the strip into the water for approximately 1 second.
    Do not put the strip into the running water.
  3. Shake the strip to remove the excess of the water.
  4. Wait 1 minute and check the water hardness with the water hardness table.
    The colours of the reaction zones continue to change. Do not check the water hardness later than 1 minute after the test.

  5. Set the water hardness in Menu > Settings > Setup > Water hardness .
Before first use

Before you take your cooking skills to a new level, let us help you with the first time set up.

Connect your oven, give it an initial clean and configure the settings before you start cooking your first meals.

Initial cleaning

Give your oven and accessories a good start with an easy initial cleaning.

Make sure the oven is cold.
  1. Remove the accessories and the removable shelf supports.
  2. Clean the accessories and the inside of the oven with a soft cloth with warm water and a mild cleaning agent.
    Do not clean the accessories in the dishwasher.
  3. Clean the front of the oven with a soft cloth with warm water and a mild cleaning agent.
  4. Put the accessories and the removable shelf supports back in their initial position.

Insert the wire shelf

The guide bars help you to smoothly insert the wire shelf.

Insert a baking tray or a deep pan

The guide bars help you to smoothly insert a baking tray or a deep pan.

Use the telescopic runners to insert the wire shelf

Easygoing. The telescopic runners make it even easier to put in or remove shelves, trays and pans.

  1. Put the wire shelf on the telescopic runners so that the feet point downwards.
    The high rim around the wire shelf prevents cookware from slipping.
  2. Push the telescopic runners into the oven.
    CAUTION: Make sure that you push back the telescopic runners fully into the oven before you close the door.
Use the telescopic runners to insert the deep pan

Easygoing. The telescopic runners make it even easier to put in or remove shelves, trays and pans.

  1. Put the deep pan on the telescopic runners.
  2. Push the telescopic runners into the oven.
    CAUTION: Make sure that you push back the telescopic runners fully into the oven before you close the door.
Use the telescopic runners to insert the wire shelf together with a deep pan

Nice and neat. Catch drips from the wire tray with a deep pan. Place them together on the telescopic runners and enjoy the easy way to insert accessories.

  1. Place the deep pan on the telescopic runner.
  2. Place the wire shelf on top of the deep pan, so that the feet of the wire shelf point downwards.
    The high rim around the wire shelf prevents cookware from slipping.
  3. Push the telescopic runners into the oven.
    CAUTION: Make sure that you push back the telescopic runners fully into the oven before you close the door.

    • choose from the default heating functions shortcuts on the display;
    • press to choose from the list of all heating functions.

Using the Water Drawer

Use your Water Drawer and enjoy delicious steam-cooked dishes.

  1. Push the front button of the water drawer.
    Water drawer pops out.
  2. Remove the water drawer from the oven and fill it from a water tap to the maximum level mark.
    Note: You can also leave the water drawer inside the oven and pour the water from a container.
  3. Carry the drawer in the horizontal position to avoid water spilling.
  4. Insert the water drawer in the initial position. Push the front button until the water drawer is inside the oven.
  5. Empty the water drawer after each use.
    CAUTION: Risk of damage.

    Keep the water drawer away from hot surfaces.

Cook with steam - Steamify

Use the steam functions to make delicious food and preserve nutrients and flavour at the same time.

Steam cooking requires that there is water in the water drawer. A full water drawer is sufficient for approximately 50 minutes. A signal sounds when it is time to refill.
Warning: Risk of fire.

Do not put flammable or alcoholic liquids into the water drawer.

CAUTION: Risk of damage to the oven.

Use only cold tap water. Do not use filtered (demineralised) or distilled water. Do not use other liquids.

  1. Turn on the oven.
  2. Press to set a steam heating function.
  3. Press to set the temperature.
    Display goes into the temperature settings.
  4. Move the finger on the slider to set the temperature.
    Note: Refer to the Steam Cooking table to choose the best temperature for your dish.
  5. Press to confirm.
  6. Fill the water drawer with cold water to the maximum level (approximately 950 ml). Use the scale on the water drawer.
  7. Dry the wet water drawer with a soft cloth.
  8. Push the water drawer to its initial position.
  9. Press .
    The steam appears after approximately two minutes and a signal sounds when the oven reaches the set temperature. A second signal sounds at the end of the cooking time.
  10. Turn off the oven.
  11. Empty the water drawer after steam cooking is complete.
  12. When the oven is cold, wipe the bottom of the cavity to remove condensate.
    CAUTION: Open the oven door carefully to avoid the water spillage.

For cooking stewed and braised meat or fish, bread and poultry, as well as cheesecakes and casseroles.

Steam for Gentle Crisping

135 - 150 °C

For meat, casseroles, stuffed vegetables, fish and gratin. Owing to the combination of steam and heat the meat gets a juicy and tender texture along with a crispy surface.

If you set the timer, the grill function turns on automatically in the last minutes of the cooking process to give the dish a gentle gratin.

Steam for Baking and Roasting

155 - 230 °C

For roasted and baked dishes meat, fish, poultry, filled puff pastry, tarts, muffins, gratin, vegetables and bakery goods.

If you set the timer and put the food on the first level, the bottom heat function turns on automatically in the last minutes of the cooking process to give dish a crispy bottom.

SousVide Cooking recommendations

Find some hints and tips to achieve perfect results with SousVide Cooking.

SousVide Cooking: General hints

  • Low temperatures are suitable only for the types of food that can be eaten raw.
  • Use high quality and fresh raw food. Be careful when using raw eggs.
  • Boil ingredients containing alcohol before vacuum packing.
  • Put the vacuum bags on the grid side by side.
  • Do not cook the food for a long time when you are using the temperature below 60 °C.
  • You can keep the cooked food in the fridge for 2 – 3 days. Cool down the food quickly (by using ice bath).
  • Do not use this function for reheating food leftovers.

SousVide Cooking: Meat

  • Use only boneless meat to avoid piercing the vacuum bags.
  • Fry the poultry fillets skin side down before vacuum packing.

SousVide Cooking: Fish and seafood

  • Dry the fish fillets with a paper towel before you put them in a vacuum bag.
  • Add a cup of water in the vacuum bag when you cook the mussels.

SousVide Cooking: Vegetables

  • To keep the colour of the artichokes, put them in water with lemon juice, after you clean and cut them.

SousVide Cooking: Fruit and sweets

  • To keep the colour of the apples and pears, put them in water with lemon juice, after you clean and cut them.
Vacuum Packing

Using your vacuum bags in proper way is a recipe for delicious meals.

  • Use only the vacuum bags and chamber vacuum sealer recommended for SousVide. Only this type of vacuum sealer can vacuum pack liquids.
  • Do not reuse vacuum bags.
  • To guarantee a safe closing of the vacuum bag, make sure that the area subject to the seal is clean. Make sure that the edges of the inner side of the vacuum bag are clean, before sealing it.
  • For faster and better results set the maximum vacuum degree.
How to set SousVide Cooking

With SousVide Cooking you use lower cooking temperatures compared to normal cooking.

  1. Turn on the oven.
    The display shows the default heating functions. To see more heating functions press .
  2. Press to set the function SousVide Cooking.
  3. Press to confirm.
  4. Press to set the timer.
  5. Press to confirm.
  6. Press to set the temperature.
  7. Press .
  8. After cooking, use a plate and a towel to take out the vacuum bags
    CAUTION: Open the oven door carefully to avoid the water spillage.
  9. When the oven is cold, wipe the bottom of the cavity with the sponge to remove condensate. Dry the cavity with a soft cloth.
Use the Food Sensor

The Food Sensor helps you cook your food all the way through.

The Food Sensor measures the temperature inside the food. When the food is at the set temperature, the oven turns off.

CAUTION: Use only the supplied Food Sensor and the original replacement parts.

Two temperatures need to be set to use the Food Sensor:

  • The oven temperature (minimum 120 °C).
  • The food core temperature.

The oven calculates an approximate end of cooking time. It depends on the quantity of food, the set heating function and the set temperatures.

Directions for the best result:

  • Ingredients should be at room temperature.

  • The Food Sensor cannot be used for liquid dishes.

  • During cooking the Food Sensor must remain in the dish and the plug in the socket.

Cook meat, poultry, and fish with the Food Sensor

The Food Sensor helps you measure the temperature inside the food.

  1. Turn on the oven.
  2. Set a heating function and, if required, the oven temperature.
  3. Insert the tip of the Food Sensor into the centre of the meat or the fish, in the thickest part (if possible).
    Make sure that at least 3/4 of the Food Sensor is inside of the dish.
  4. Put the plug of the Food Sensor into the socket located in the front frame of the oven.
    The display shows the current Food Sensor temperature.
  5. Press to set the food core temperature.
  6. Press to go to the Food Sensor options. To select, press one of the options:
    • Sound alarm - when food reaches core temperature, the signal sounds.
    • Sound alarm and stop - when food reaches core temperature, the signal sounds and the oven stops.
    • Just show temperature - the display shows the current core temperature.
  7. Press or .
  8. Press .
When the dish reaches the set food core temperature, a signal sounds. You can choose to stop or to continue cooking to make sure the food is well done.
Remove the Food Sensor plug from the socket and remove the dish from the oven.
Warning: Risk for burns.

The Food Sensor becomes hot. Be careful when you unplug the Food Sensor and remove it from the food.

Cook casserole with the Food Sensor

The Food Sensor helps you measure the temperature inside the food.

  1. Turn on the oven.
  2. Set a heating function and, if required, the oven temperature.
  3. Insert the tip of the Food Sensor exactly in the centre of the casserole.
    The Food Sensor must not move during baking. Use solid ingredients to stabilize the Food Sensor and support the silicone handle on the rim of the baking dish.
    Important: Do not let the tip of the Food Sensor touch the bottom of the baking dish.
  4. Cover the Food Sensor with the rest of the ingredients.
  5. Put the plug of theFood Sensor into the socket located in the front frame of the oven.
    The display shows the current Food Sensor temperature.
  6. Press to set the food core temperature.
  7. Press to go to the Food Sensor options. To select, press one of the options:
    • Sound alarm - when food reaches core temperature, the signal sounds.
    • Sound alarm and stop - when food reaches core temperature, the signal sounds and the oven stops.
    • Just show temperature - the display shows the current core temperature.
  8. Press or .
  9. Press .
When the dish reaches the set food core temperature, a signal sounds. You can choose to stop or to continue cooking to make sure the food is well done.
Remove the Food Sensor plug from the socket and remove the dish from the oven.
Warning: Risk for burns.

The Food Sensor becomes hot. Be careful when you unplug the Food Sensor and remove it from the food.

Use the camera shield

Use the camera shield for the best quality of the photos if your room lighting favours reflections.

  1. Press the camera shield between the door glass and the handle, in the central position.
  2. Lean the longer hooks on the glass and the shorter ones on the back of the handle.
Use the automatic switch-off

Your oven automatically turns off after a certain period of inactivity.

For safety reasons, the oven turns off automatically after some time if a heating function is active and you do not change any settings.

Note: The automatic switch-off cannot be used together with the functions: Light, Food Sensor, Duration or End Time.

Cooling fan

When the oven operates, the cooling fan turns on automatically to keep the surfaces of the oven cool.

If you turn off the oven, the cooling fan continues to operate until the oven cools down.

Save energy

Save energy without effort in your everyday cooking.

Oven features that help you to save energy:

The oven fan
When possible, use the fan cooking functions to save energy.
Moist Fan Baking
This function is designed to save energy. The lamp automatically turns off after 30 seconds. You may turn on the lamp again but this action will reduce the expected energy savings.
Cook with the lamp off
You can turn off the lamp during cooking. Turn it on only when you need it.
Use of residual heat
If the cooking time is set with the function Duration or the function End Time, and the cooking time is longer than 30 minutes, the oven turns off the heating elements earlier in some oven functions. The fan and the lamp continue to operate.

When the cooking duration is longer than 30 minutes, and the function Duration or the function End Time are not set, reduce the oven temperature to minimum 3 - 10 minutes before the end of the cooking time (depending on the duration of the cooking).

When you turn off the oven, the display shows the residual heat. Use the residual heat to heat up food, defrost food, keep food warm or warm up plates.

Standby mode
After 2 minutes the display goes to standby mode.

General tips on how to save energy:

  • Make sure that the oven door is closed properly when the oven operates.
  • Do not open the door too often during cooking.
  • Keep the door gasket clean and make sure it is well fixed in its position.
  • Use metal dishes to improve energy saving.
  • When possible, do not preheat the oven before you put the food inside.
  • When you prepare several dishes on the same occasion, keep breaks between baking as short as possible.

When to clean the oven

After each use:

  • Manually clean the oven, or use the function Steam Cleaning.
    Important: Fat accumulation or other food remains may result in a fire. The risk is especially high for the grill pan.
  • Clean the used accessories.

After each use of steam:

  • Wipe moisture from the oven cavity.

  • Clean the oven cavity with a soft cloth with warm water and a neutral cleaning agent. Do not use any abrasive products, abrasive cleaning pads, solvents or metal objects.
  • To clean metal surfaces, use a dedicated cleaning agent.
  • Clean stubborn dirt with a cleaning agent that is intended for ovens.
  • Clean the front of the oven with a soft cloth with warm water and a mild cleaning agent.
  • Do not clean the catalytic enamel (if applicable) with any kind of detergent.

Cleaning Reminder

When the display shows a cleaning reminder, cleaning is necessary.

When the cleaning reminder shows, use the function Steam Cleaning Plus to clean your oven.

You enable or disable the cleaning reminder in the menu Cleaning > Cleaning Reminder.

Clean your oven with Steam Cleaning

Regularly clean the oven to continue to get good cooking results.

Use the function Steam Cleaning for cleaning the appliance when it is slightly soiled and not burned several times. The duration of the function is approximately 30 minutes. The oven needs to dry for up to one hour after the function ends.

When the steam cleaning function is active, the light in the oven is off.

Important: Before you start a cleaning procedure, make sure that the oven is cold.
  1. Remove the accessories and the shelf support to clean the side walls.
  2. Remove as much dirt as possible manually.
  3. Fill the water drawer with cold water to the maximum level (approximately 950 ml).
  4. Select menu Cleaning > Steam Cleaning and turn on the function.
  5. After the cleaning process, wipe the cavity of the oven with a non-abrasive surface care sponge.
  6. Remove the remaining water from the water drawer.
  7. Let the oven dry fully with the door open.
    It takes approximately one hour for the oven to dry.
Clean your oven with Steam Cleaning Plus

Regularly clean the oven to continue to get good cooking results.

Use the function Steam Cleaning Plus for cleaning stubborn dirt with the support of an oven cleaner. The duration of the function is approximately 75 minutes. The oven needs to dry for up to one hour after the function ends.

When the steam cleaning function is active, the light in the oven is off.

Important: Before you start a cleaning procedure, make sure that the oven is cold.
  1. Remove the accessories and the shelf support to clean the side walls.
  2. Remove as much dirt as possible manually.
  3. Fill the water drawer with cold water to the maximum level (approximately 950 ml).
  4. Spray a suitable detergent evenly in the oven cavity, on both enamel and steel parts.
  5. Select menu Cleaning > Steam Cleaning Plus and turn on the function.
  6. After the cleaning process, wipe the cavity of the oven with a non-abrasive surface care sponge.
  7. Let the oven dry fully with the door open.
    It takes approximately one hour for the oven to dry.
Dry your oven

Use the function Drying to easily dry your oven after steam cooking or steam cleaning.

Important: Before you start a cleaning procedure, make sure that the oven is cold.
  1. Remove all accessories.
  2. Select menu Cleaning > Drying and turn on the function.
  3. Follow the instructions on the display.
Drying reminder

Keep your oven nice and dry after each steam cooking.

After steam cooking, the display shows a message prompting to dry the oven. Press YES to dry the oven.

Remove and install the shelf support

Remove the shelf support to easily clean and care for your oven.

Warning: Risk of burns. Make sure that the oven is cool before you start to work.
  1. Pull the supports up and out of the front catch.
  2. Pull the front end of the shelf support away from the side wall.
  3. Pull the supports out of the rear catch.
  4. To install the shelf support, do the steps in reverse order.
Remove and install door glasses

Remove the door to clean the internal glass plates or to do the servicing of the door.

You can remove the door and the internal glass panels to clean it. The number of glass panels is different for different models.
Warning: The door is heavy.
  1. Open the door fully.
  2. Fully press the clamping levers (A) on the two door hinges.
  3. Close the oven door to the first open position, at an angle of approximately 70°.
  4. Hold the door with one hand on each side and pull it away from the oven at an upwards angle.
  5. Put the door with the outer side down on a soft cloth on a stable surface.
  6. Press on the sides of the door trim (B) to release the clip seal and gently pull the trim off the door.
  7. Remove the glass panels one by one: hold each panel on the top edge and pull it upwards out of the guide.
  8. Clean the glass panel with water and soap. Dry the glass panel carefully.
  9. To install the door, do the steps in reverse order. Install the smaller panel before the larger panel.
    Warning: Risk of overheating. Make sure that the glass panels are inserted in the correct position, otherwise the surface of the door may overheat.

Replace the top lamp

If the light in your oven dims, check the top lamp and replace it if needed.

Warning:
  • Risk of electric shock. Turn off the oven before you start to work.
  • The lamp can be hot.
  1. Turn off the oven.
  2. Wait until the oven is cold.
  3. Disconnect the oven from the main power supply.
  4. Put a cloth on the bottom of the cavity.
  5. Turn the lamp glass cover to remove it.
  6. Remove the metal ring and clean the glass cover.
  7. Replace the lamp with a suitable 300 °C heat-resistant lamp.
  8. Attach the metal ring to the glass cover.
  9. Install the metal glass cover over the lamp.
Replace the side lamp

If the light in your oven dims, check the side lamp and replace it if needed.

Warning:
  • Risk of electric shock. Turn off the oven before you start to work.
  • The lamp can be hot.
  1. Turn off the oven.
  2. Wait until the oven is cold.
  3. Disconnect the oven from the main power supply.
  4. Put a cloth on the bottom of the cavity.
  5. Remove the left shelf support to access the lamp.
  6. Use a Torx 20 screwdriver to remove the cover.
  7. Remove the metal frame and the seal from the lamp cover and clean them.
  8. Replace the lamp with a suitable 300 °C heat-resistant lamp.
  9. Install the metal frame and the seal of the lamp cover. Tighten the screws.
  10. Install the left shelf support.
Rinse the steam generation system

Regularly rinse the steam generation system to ensure good cooking results.

The duration of the function Rinsing is approximately 30 minutes.

When the function is active, the light in the oven is off.

  1. Remove all accessories. Leave only the baking tray on the first shelf position.
  2. Fill the water drawer with fresh water.
  3. Select menu Cleaning > Rinsing and turn on the function.
    The user interface will guide you through the procedure.
  4. Remove the baking tray when the function is complete.
Descale regularly

Keep up the good steam: descale when your oven indicates that it is time.

To prevent limestone accumulation in the steam generation system, clean the steam generation circuit as soon as the oven prompts you with a descaling reminder.

Limestone accumulates inside the steam generator because of the calcium contents in the water. Accumulated limestone can have a negative effect on the steam quality, the performance of the steam generator, and the food quality.

Descaling reminder

You have to descale the steam generation system regularly in order to use the steam functions. The descaling reminder helps you to remember.

When it is time to use the function Descaling, a reminder shows on the display each time you turn off the oven.

You cannot turn off the descaling reminder.

There are two types of reminders:

  • The soft reminder reminds and recommends you to run the function Descaling.
  • The hard reminder obligates you to run the function Descaling.
    Important: If you do not descale the oven when the hard reminder is on, you cannot use the steam functions.
Descale the steam generation system

Descale the steam generation system regularly to continue to get good cooking results.

The duration of the complete descaling procedure is approximately 2 hours.

When the function Descaling works, the light in the oven is off.

Important: If the Descaling is not carried out correctly, a display message will prompt you to repeat the procedure.
  1. Remove all accessories. Leave only the baking tray on the first shelf position.
  2. Make sure that the water drawer is empty.
  3. Put 250 ml of the descaling agent in the water drawer.
  4. Fill the remaining part of the water drawer with water to the maximum level (approximately 950 ml).
  5. Insert the water drawer.
  6. Select Cleaning > Descaling and turn on the function.
    The first part of the function Descaling starts. The duration of this step is approximately 1 hour 40 minutes.
  7. Follow the instructions on the display. The user interface will guide you through the procedure.
  8. When the first part is complete, empty the baking tray and put it back on the first shelf position.
    The second part of the function Descaling starts. The duration of this step is approximately 35 minutes.
  9. Fill the water drawer with water to the maximum level (approximately 950 ml).
    Note: Make sure there is no remaining descaling agent inside the water drawer.
  10. Insert the water drawer.
  11. When the second part is complete, remove the baking tray.
  12. If the oven cavity is humid or wet, wipe it with a dry cloth.
  13. Let the oven dry fully with the door open.
    It takes approximately one hour for the oven to dry.
